Three of Chicago’s Most Buzzworthy New Restaurants

Derek Sulo serves as principal at Peerless Real Estate Investments in Chicago. Outside of work, Derek Sulo enjoys exploring new restaurants throughout the city. Chicago boasts one of the best restaurant scenes in the nation, with new and exciting eateries opening frequently.

In the last year, among the restaurants generating the most buzz was Cruz Blanca in West Loop. This Oaxaca-inspired spot serves house-brewed beer paired with delicious tacos. Diners will also find great Mexican street foods, from beef tasajo to Tlayudas.

Kimski, located in Bridgeport, also received a lot of attention. This Polish-Korean fusion place may sound like a bad idea at first, but one bite of a Polish sausage with soju mustard and kimchi-infused slaw will change any diner’s mind. The other must-try dish at Kimski is the Kopo Wangs.

Stephanie Izard, winner of Top Chef, made waves with her new Chinese restaurant, Duck Duck Goat. The eatery consists of five rooms, each of which follows a different Chinese motif. First-timers have to try the soup dumplings. Some other stars of the menu include Dan Dan noodles and fried rice with duck.
